Dimacofi Personal - skins for mp3 players, cell phones and laptops
Dimacofi Personal is an on demand service where you can create personalized skins for cell phones, mp3 players and laptops. The public website uses Drupal so that all the content can be loaded through a backend. Drupal integrates via XMLRPC with backend webservices with all the business logic. The user can buy pre-build skins or create their own with a Flex application.
For this project we also developed a custom Flex 2 application which allows the user to add text, images, vector graphics and color to the skins. It uses masks to render the images on the devices so that the user can see a preview of their skin. The application is skinnable through configuration making it easy to brand by changing the colors and images.
Personal Book - print on demand services
Personal Book is a print on demand service for books owned by Dimacofi in Chile. Customers can register and buy books from their extensive catalogue. The books can be personalized with text messages which is printed as part of the book. Their entire site is implemented in Drupal 6. Using XMLRPC it communicates with core services which were also developed by us. Easytech not only developed the website but also the order management system they use to track customer orders, a secure storage service to store encrypted books and a custom imposition engine to generate ready to print PDFs written in Java.
Ternium Siderar
Easytech implemented the design for Ternium Siderar corporate site. THe new design was developed taking advantage of Drupal's flexibility so that the webmasters could take complete control of all the sites content.
As usual, the project management used version control software to garantee a high quality product. Aditionally we used guick, our propietrary cloud based ticketing system for all communicacion and issue tracking.
Ciudad.com
Together with our design partner, ABZ Comunicación, we re-designed the Ciudad.com site, a high traffic show business news site. The site is implemented using Drupal 6 and we were responsible for implementing the new look and feel.
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was to be able to easily change the layout of the home page. In the course of the day the editors wanted to be able to update the news and layouts as they happened. For this we developed a new Drupal module so that the users could move around parts of the layout using drag and drop.
The module had many interesting features. The whole home page could be thought of as a stack of bricks. Each brick had slots which can hold news items or blocks of content with a definite layout. The user can re-oreder these bricks up and down, remove them or add new ones. In addition articles can be dragged from one slot to the other.
