We have just recently finished implementing the new theoretical exam for the Buenos Aires Government drivers license system. The application replaces an older software written with the .NET framework which was not fully integrated with the system currently used to process all requests for drivers licenses to Buenos Aires residents. With the new system no human intervention is necessary which reduces the time needed to complete the whole process.

The application leverages the new Adobe Flex technology so the exam has a dynamic look and feel while taking advantage of the easy deployment provided by web applications. The integration with the rest of the system is done using web services. This allows for a clean separation of duties: the front end, written in Flex, takes care of the user interface while the back-end, written in PHP, takes care of generating the exam, checking the answers and integrating with the rest of the application.

The user interface, created with Adobe Flex, allows the application to be very dynamic while leveraging the easy deployment of web applications.
